the egg shell project

dis-shelled

The Egg Shell Project is an investigation into alternative wearable materials that are in symbiosis with nature.

Through making use of food by-product and locally sourced mixed composites, The Little Disruptors’ have created DIS-SHELLED a wearable material that is beautifully textured and versatile that can be returned to nature through composting.

(Compostable materials are materials that have been created to break down completely into non-toxic components)

Credit to Mala Siamptani; whom was very kind to act as a Participant in this research project and for passing on the knowledge of the possibilities of alternative materials.

THE LITTLE DISRUPTORS’ COMPOSTABLE MATERIAL - Dis-Shelled

  • Challenging the design process by making the material rather than the traditional ‘Defuturing’ process of sourcing materials from across the planet. The Little Disruptors’ Co-Op have been researching and developing a new wearable material that is created through teaming up with a local bakery by using their food by product ‘egg shells’ and a locally sourced compostable composite, which mixed together creates a compostable chainmail.
