The Little Disruptors’ Co-Op is a design co-operative that creates wearables in symbiosis with Nature.

Futuring

Design is ubiquitous throughout human history (Fry, 2020), our shared experience of the world has been designed with the aim to create an existence for our species that not only thrives and grows, but is also comfortable, enjoyable and enriching. Political and economic systems, the cities we live in, the roads we cycle along, the table we sit at and the jumper we wear have all been designed with the INTENTION to improve our everyday lives - designed by us, for us. However, this human centred thinking and more specifically to TLD ‘human centred design’ has driven us as a species into a paradox of disconnection from the very thing we have grown and evolved from – our planet.

‘Futuring’ recognises design as an agent for change and a tool for activism against the past practices that have placed the world on `Red Alert’. Futuring is an ethos that seeks the caring efficacy and afterlife fate of things material and immaterial (Fry, 2020: xxvi; Jackson, 2021; Escobar, 2017). As stated by Julia Watson in her Lo-Tek Design by Radical Indigenism (2019:397) ``as designers, our role is to create a new ground for positive engagement with nature…[and] as designers we need to remember we are part of nature. ‘’

here at the little disruptors’ co-op we are a futuring design led COOPERATIVE that creates and COLLABORATEs in symbiosis with nature.
